Thematic Area: Protection
Objective
This project aims to establish
a structured presence in both Koboko and Arua through partnerships with the South
Sudanese Refugee Association in Uganda (SSURA), a registered Refugee-Led
Organization (RLO) operating in these locations.
The legal officer and community-based paralegal will be responsible for the
following activities:
a.
Providing information on essential
services in Koboko and ICLA themes that is on legal stay, legal identity
documentation, employment and business and housing land and property.
b.
Provision of legal counselling to
refugees and the host community.
c.
Provide legal assistance to
refugees and the host community based on ICLA themes, especially legal identity
documentation, Collaborative Dispute Resolution (CDR) with a focus on mediation
and negotiations, drafting legal documents for name verifications (statutory
declarations), lease and land use agreements, tenancy agreements, and
accompaniment.
d.
Collecting information on arrivals
and challenges faced by refugees in Koboko.
e.
Submitting project reports
(weekly, monthly, and end of project report) on progress in the provided
template.
f.
SSURA team and to work closely
with NRC and ULS inthe Arua ICLA access centre and the SSURA office.
Thematic areas and Target groups
Through this project, SSURA will target 7,720
(Refugees 5,404; Host 2,316) individuals, 70% refugees and 30% host community.
